Heehyun Lee Quartet is an Amsterdam-based group consisting of four musicians from South Korea, Denmark, and Venezuela. Most of the time, the band comprises a guitar (Heehyun Lee), alto saxophone (Leonardo Boccardo), bass (Samuel Kiel), and drums (Ludvig Søndergaard) resulting in a collaborative, intimate, and authentic sound. The guitarist, Heehyun Lee, draws inspiration from her personal stories, adding to the band's diverse range of music. The band’s honest improvisation lets listeners imagine, connect with their experiences in life, and feel warm-hearted sounds from her delicate but solid playing. Their influences are incredibly varied, resulting in a unique sound that includes jazz from different eras, folk music, modern chamber music, and more.
