Onlangs heeft de groep gewerkt aan zelfgeschreven stukken geïnspireerd door vrouwelijke artiesten in hun verschillende moedertalen - deze omvatten onder andere Tove Ditlevsen, Tjitske Jansen en Anna Eva Bergman.
Naast hun betrokkenheid bij de groep hebben de leden verschillende jaren ervaring in de professionele muziekscene in hun respectievelijke landen, zowel als lid van ensembles als solisten tijdens tournees.
In de herfst van 2022 is de groep een samenwerking aangegaan met Componist des Vaderlands Martin Fondse, waarbij ze deelnamen als 'vocaal orkest' in zijn eclectische jazzensemble voor zijn nieuw gecomponeerde werk Diamonds, het resultaat van de jaarlijkse compositieopdracht van BIMHUIS. Ook waren ze eerder te gast bij Het Brokkenfestival van Corrie van Binsbergen in het Bimhuis.
De groep staat nu aan de vooravond van een mooie lente met de opname van hun eerste album en een Scandinavische tour in de zomer van 2024 en een theatertour in 2025 in het vooruitzicht.
Vox Sturnus (EN)
Vox Sturnus is a vocal collective of creative singers and musicians from the Netherlands, Norway, Iceland and Denmark with the aim of bringing women in music together around the creative process across age, nationality and musical background. The group comprises of Margriet Sjoerdsma (NL), Thora Sveinsdottir (IS), Maaike van der Linde (NL), Annie Tangberg (NO), Julia Werner (NL) and Anne Marie Roel Messerschmidt (DK).
For this reason, the group works creatively to explore and unfold the compositions of individual members or collaboratively to improvise, arrange or give shape to new ideas, resulting in an exciting alchemy of vocal harmonies, delicate string arrangements and various other instrumental features that move within genres such as folk, jazz and the more experimental vocal music.
Most recently, the group has worked with self-written pieces inspired by female artists in their various native languages - these include Tove Ditlevsen, Tjitske Jansen and Anna Eva Bergman, to name a few.
Alongside being part of the group, the members have several years of experience from the professional music scene in their respective countries as well as touring with both ensembles and as soloists.

In the fall of 2022, the group engaged in an exciting collaboration with jazz composer Martin Fondse, partaking as the 'voice orchestra' in his eclectic jazz ensemble for his newly composed work Diamonds, the product of BIMHUIS' annual commissioned composition assignment.
The group is now heading into an exciting spring with the recording of their first album and a Scandinavian tour in the summer of 2024 in sight.
